What Aura isn't
Not a real-time tracker.
Aura doesn't continuously send your cat's location to your phone and it isn't intended as a live lost-cat finder.
What it is: Aura quietly records your cat's journeys while they're out exploring. When they come home, connect Aura by USB and Studio turns the journey into maps, patterns and a first-person diary shaped by their personality.
Development status
Aura is already more than an idea.
The core experience has been demonstrated with real prototype hardware and a working Aura Studio. Development is now concentrated on turning that proof into a genuinely cat-wearable device.
The journey comes home
Working Aura prototypes have already demonstrated the essentials: recording a cat's GPS journey, waking when there is an adventure to capture, bringing that journey home by USB, and turning it into a first-person diary in Aura Studio.
Make it collar-ready
Current work is focused on reducing power use, proving battery life and fitting the working electronics into a small, comfortable, self-contained collar unit.
Prove the finished wearable
Final weight, battery life, enclosure, weather resistance, compliance and production design still need to be proven before Aura is ready as a finished product.
Aura Studio is currently in private development testing. Public Studio access, final product specifications and any launch timetable will come only when the hardware is ready to support them.
A Cat's Tale
The map tells you where. Their character makes it a tale.
Tell Aura Studio about your cat and the diary can sound like them: adventurous, cautious, curious, aloof, determined or gloriously unpredictable. The same route need not become the same story for every cat.
